Breely allows you to seamlessly integrate with both Stripe and Square to manage payments. Both integrations offer the same core functionalities: accepting payments, securely storing customer cards for future use, and processing subscription payments.
Connecting Your Breely Account to Square
To integrate your Breely account with Square:
Navigate to Features & Integrations in your Breely account.
Select Payments.
Click on Square.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Square account.
Once connected, you can immediately begin accepting payments through Breely.
Connecting Your Breely Account to Stripe
To integrate your Breely account with Stripe:
Navigate to Features & Integrations in your Breely account.
Select Payments.
Click on Stripe.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Stripe account.
Once connected, you can immediately begin accepting payments through Breely.
Payment Settings within Event Types
Breely allows you to customize payment requirements for different event types:
Require full payment when clients book: Clients will need to pay the entire service cost at the time of booking.
Require a deposit when clients book: Clients will only need to pay a specified deposit amount to secure their booking.
Storing a card on file (and optionally allowing clients to pay in full): You can give clients the option to store their card details for future use. You can also allow them to pay the full amount during booking if they choose.
Important Note: Payments for packages, subscriptions, gift certificates, add-ons, and any other non-appointment items must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
Square Terminal in Person Checkout (Optional)
For businesses that conduct in-person appointments, Breely offers a beta feature to connect with your Square Terminal for taking payments directly.
To set up in-person payments with your Square Terminal:
In Breely:
Go to Features & Integrations > Payments > Square.
Expand the "Square Terminal" section.
Click "Create Device Code". Keep this code handy, as you'll need it for your Square Terminal.
On your Square Terminal:
If you're currently logged in, log out of your existing Square account.
During the login process, enter your Square email address and select the "Device Code" option.
Enter the Device Code you generated in Breely.
Once successfully paired, your Square Terminal will display the "Powered by Square" screen. You can either:
Swipe right on the terminal to access the menu and log out to return to your main Square screen.
Leave the terminal on this screen, ready for checkout requests from Breely.
Processing an Appointment Payment via Square Terminal from Breely:
Open the relevant appointment within Breely.
In the Payments section, if there's an outstanding balance and your Square Terminal is successfully paired, you'll see a "Square Terminal Checkout" button.
Click the "Square Terminal Checkout" button. This will send a payment request to your connected Square Terminal.
Once the client completes the payment on the Square Terminal, the payment details will automatically update within their appointment in Breely.
