Enabling Gift Certificates
Before creating or selling certificates, turn on the feature:
Go to Features and Integrations.
Toggle Gift Certificates on.
After enabling, a Gift Certificate form is automatically created for you. You can place the Gift Certificate block on any other form as well, giving each form its own options, pricing values, and delivery settings. Clients can purchase gift certificates using a form that has a Gift Certificate question in it.
Creating a Gift Certificate as an Admin
Admins can manually create a gift certificate at any time. This is useful for issuing complimentary certificates, handling in-person sales, or entering purchases made outside your booking website.
Go to Gift Certificates in the sidebar.
Click Add Gift Certificate.
Fill in:
• Recipient name and email
• Optional message
• Certificate amount (chosen from your available values or custom amounts)
• Delivery preferences
This creates a single certificate with its own code, expiration rules, and balance.
Gift Certificate Settings Inside Forms
Gift certificate purchase options are controlled inside the Gift Certificate block on a form. Each form can have its own:
Display label
Expiration rules
Background images
Allowed values
Permission for custom amounts
Delivery options
This gives businesses flexibility to offer different types of gift certificates depending on context.
For example, a yoga studio may offer standard dollar amounts on one form and class-specific gift options on another.
Adding Gift Certificate Values
Gift certificate values are created and managed inside the Gift Certificate block on each form. These values then appear across the platform: on any form that includes a Gift Certificate block, inside the admin’s Add Gift Certificate panel, and in the Gift Certificates list once purchased.
To add or edit values:
Open Forms.
Select the form you want to configure.
Click the Gift Certificate block to open its settings.
Under Gift Certificate Values, you can add new values, rename existing ones, adjust prices, or remove values.
When adding a new value, you can enter any name and price you want. Many businesses choose to create values that match their event types for easy gifting. For example, you can set the name to the exact event type name (for example, “90 Minute Facial”) and enter the event’s price as the amount. This makes it clear to clients what the certificate covers and creates a direct connection between the certificate and the service being booked.
Once saved, all values you create become globally selectable when creating gift certificates and visible to clients anywhere the Gift Certificate block is used. This works equally well for set price options, custom offerings, or values aligned perfectly with your event types.
Allowing Custom Amounts
Inside the Gift Certificate block, you can enable Allow clients to choose a custom value.
This gives buyers the freedom to enter their own price.
Useful when:
Clients want flexible gifting
You offer high-cost services where buyers may want to contribute partially
You want to encourage open-ended gifting during holidays or promotions
When enabled, the “Custom Amount” option appears on the client purchase page and inside the admin’s creation panel.
