Connecting
Under Features & Integrations > Calendar Syncing you can choose to sync with Google Calendar, iCloud, and Office 365. This allows for 2-way syncing, where events in Google/iCloud/Office365 can block off time in Breely and new events in Breely can be added to your external calendar.
To connect:
Select "Connect a Calendar" and choose to connect to your iCloud (for iCal syncing), Google Calendar, or Office 365 (Microsoft 365)
For Google and Office 365 this will direct you to authenticate with that service then redirect you back to Breely to continue set up after connecting
For iCloud you must create an app specific password and copy that into Breely and save
You can connect multiple different calendar accounts
Next, set up syncing for each Person/Bookable Thing in Breely. Under each Person/Bookable Thing you can select:
"Add events to" - allows you to select one external calendar where appointments scheduled in Breely will be added to
"Check for conflicts on" - select one or more external calendars that will block off time for this Person/Bookable Thing in Breely
Troubleshooting
If events from your other calendar are not blocking off time in Breely there are a few common things to check:
In Features & Integrations > Calendar Syncing in Breely, make sure the calendar that the events are on added under the "check for conflicts on" section
In your external calendar make sure that the events are marked as "busy". Events that are marked as Free will not block off time. Typically calendar apps will mark all day events as free, instead of busy.
If you use an app on your computer or phone (such as Apple's Calendar app) instead of viewing the calendar in your browser it's possible that events are only on your local device and not sent to the calendar service. To see if this is the issue you can go to view your calendar on the web in a browser and ensure all events are showing up on the website.
Google Calendar: https://calendar.google.com
iCloud: https://www.icloud.com/calendar/
Office 365: https://outlook.office.com/calendar/view/month
iCloud only: it can take up to 15 minutes to sync events. Office 365 and Google will notify us when new events are added and should sync almost instantly, but with iCloud we need to poll every 15 minutes to check for new events.
Is the event not showing up one that was added by Breely?
Events will not automatically sync between Breely accounts, even if they are connected to the same external calendar
Instead, you can choose to sync under Integrations > Calendar Syncing then Connect a Calendar" and choose "Continue with Breely". After that you can choose what to block off between Breely accounts
If none of the above help to solve the issue please contact support and share the name, date, and time of an event in your external calendar that are not showing up in Breely. Please include any screenshots if available.
